@Cayhr@varishangout.net @Ronnie21093@varishangout.net it's funnily paradoxical how high quality these gachas have become and just how amazing their stories are. i guess that's another good thing of being a ""gooner game"" at that point you already have all the stigma so why not make something fun and interesting out of it or i guess it's a by-product of the devs being carefree people that don't care about the opinions of a few prudes, rather they just care about giving the players something fun and interesting

@rlier23@varishangout.net That's what's so funny. You look at a game like Nikke or even BA, and your average normie points and goes "ewww gooner game." But what separates us from the masses is, in my opinion, a maturity to not only appreciate and even be enthused by the "gooner" aspects, but then to also be extremely introspective and appreciative of the elements of the games that give them "soul." I can simultaneously go "mating press now" when shown one of these girls, but at the same time think long and hard about the human themes being explored in the story. Really, I have come to love the idea of "soul." @Ronnie21093@varishangout.net

@rlier23@varishangout.net @Cayhr@varishangout.net @Ronnie21093@varishangout.net i wish ba was a gooner game but they have to lose a looooot of money before that happens

@rainignterror1080p@varishangout.net @Cayhr@varishangout.net @Ronnie21093@varishangout.net hopefully, someday if god wills it we'll get some sort of spinoff or something like that with ACTUAL SEKS

@rlier23@varishangout.net I'll be honest, the most important thing for me is that games like Nikke and BA become local games once they end their stories and/or become EOS. The sex can be left to the fanbase, their stories should be preserved. @rainignterror1080p@varishangout.net @Ronnie21093@varishangout.net
@rlier23@varishangout.net @Cayhr@varishangout.net @Ronnie21093@varishangout.net Some of that probably comes from the fact that anyone developing a ""gooner game"" already knows the niggerbrained, terminally online types aren't gonna touch it, so there's no need to dumb it down or stick to exclusively "safe" writing, gameplay, etc. because the kind of people who will actually bother playing your game are also not the kind to have a nuclear meltdown on Twitter about it.
Probably also the fact that gachas and such have basically guaranteed revenue, so there's no need to constantly draw in new buyers.

@Cayhr@varishangout.net @rlier23@varishangout.net @Ronnie21093@varishangout.net @rainignterror1080p@varishangout.net The worrying fate of all Live Service games. Megaman X-Dive is the only game I can think of off handedly that saw an official release of an offline port
