@hazlin@shortstacksran.ch It is a little odd that Godot seems to be showing you such a wide FOV in the editor though, I can see why you'd think something was wrong. Maybe there's a setting to control the editor camera FOV as well somewhere?

@SuperSnekFriend@poa.st If nothing else, basically all the stats Amazon deigns to give me are the same except the frequency range, which is bigger for the 599s compared to the last set, so they shouldn't sound too radically different.

@SuperSnekFriend@poa.st I looked around a bit, but the HD599 is apparently low-end enough to not get a whole lot of attention from what I saw. Admittedly I didn't do a super deep dive, but I don't know of any dedicated forums for this kind of thing, and most of what I found through searching was either sponsorslop or focused on a similar but different product. At least in the Amazon reviews every complaint I saw boiled down to "I can't believe these open-back headphones leak sound!!" or "not enough bass!!", so I'm pretty sure they'll at least be serviceable even if they aren't perfect. That's why I went with Sennheiser to begin with, from what I understand they more or less don't make bad headphones, period (even if you really have to pay for that quality )

@SuperSnekFriend@poa.st snekbro, it lasted a good long while, much longer than some of the others I've had. I'm just hoping the replacement isn't dogshit now that I'm basically stuck with it if I want audio. It's Sennheiser, so it shouldn't be bad, but I know that "audiophile" stuff can be very hit or miss for normal people, especially if it's one of those sets that wants a custom amplifier or soundcard to work correctly. Amazon didn't say that, but Amazon isn't exactly trustworthy with regards to page listings either.

Good mofu morning fedi, my headset died completely this morning, the cord got snagged by my chair and they took a dive straight onto the floor, where they were then kicked because I have shit reflexes and tried to catch them with my foot so they wouldn't hit the floor. Now the mic doesn't work at all anymore, and the left ear has had something damaged badly, as it sounds really muddy now and I can hear something rattling every time the bass starts playing Fortunately, the new ones are apparently coming in tomorrow instead of Wednesday, so at least there's been some good news today. Now I just gotta hope they're actually good and not just audiophile bait

@hazlin@shortstacksran.ch I've been using these, they were a Sennheiser set before they got sold off to some other company, so IDK if they're still any good or not: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00KK8ZLEC They were really good, much better than the Turtle Beach type slop I'd been using up to that point (I got them in 2019). I'm replacing them with Sennheiser HD599s, since I know Sennheiser is good and those were (allegedly) a good balance between quality and not costing more than my entire PC. Hopefully they'll actually live up to the hype and I won't end up disappointed.

My headset is finally dying If the cable moves at all the left speaker cuts in and out, and the right speaker has started crackling and popping. I guess 6 years of use (and abuse) isn't too bad though. Ordered a replacement but it's gonna take until Wednesday to get here
