controversial take below 🧵
The movement loves to whine about how all modern media is a degenerate wasteland of progressive propaganda but this entire sphere is obsessed with being the most intelligent person in the room™ and reposting twitter takes and AI anime girls Quote-retweeting the latest viral outrage post with some smug remark about “Western decline” while doing absolutely nothing to fix it is really retarded, alongside posting about "trad aesthetics" and post old paintings all day and reaction videos about why Disney is bad (shocker, I know) Meanwhile, actual great storytelling for young dudes exists, and you either don’t support it or don’t even know about it (because nobody wants to repost or look cringe on the TL for whatever reason) Horus Heresy is a great series and widely known because it's fucking awesome and has a great backing (nerds), and manly (supported by white nerds) Warhammer 40K and Horus Heresy are proof that if you create something amazing and consistently deliver, people will fund it, defend it, and evangelize it. Warhammerfags—they buy the books, buy the minis, watch the lore videos, and support their culture a fuckton Meanwhile, Blade of the Betrayer (cough cough, my book), and many others such as Marty's book and Antelope Hill's book is right there. These are books that actually pushes back against the decline, with themes of war, manly virtue, and loyalty—everything people claim they want—and yet, where’s the support? You don’t win a culture war by just doomposting about how bad things are. You win by supporting the people who are actually making something better. If Warhammer nerds can fund an entire multi-million-dollar cultural empire, what’s your excuse? Check out Antelope Hill today: https://antelopehillpublishing.com/ and my book (that happens to be on sale) (if you want) https://www.amazon.com/Blade-Betrayer-Shadow-Michael-Calloway/dp/B0D86WFV11?_encoding=UTF8&qid=&sr=

The right wing is awful at consuming culture, because we tend to have lives that get in the way of things. It's the same reason we miss local politics, or any of those other important but non-essential cultural elements: Between jobs and kids there's always an excuse to ignore something new, and fall back on playing skyrim for the 100th time, or listening to your favorite high school album. It's the childless leftists that can build an entire lifestyle around a fandom. Even our children end up getting flooded with tasks and chores, always thrown into activities, clubs, teams, and college application fodder to keep them from having fun. On top of all that, guys just don't like reading from the way they talk about it. I notice from eavesdropping on the women that they still see reading as higher-status as a hobby, despite the fact it's nothing but smut. Guys tend to keep quiet about their reading because they're too embarrassed about their fun reading, and too shamed about their nonfiction to boot. It's a tough racket, even tougher when our guys can't be bothered to touch anything that doesn't have clearly delineated dopamine delivery systems

Another thing: I wish the right had musicians that covered a broader range of genres. Don't get me wrong, I love Metal and RAC, but for once, try creating something outside Metal, Punk, RAC, Martial Industrial, Synthwave, (Neo)Folk or Industrial/Power Electronics.

@Tactical@nicecrew.digital is there a way to buy your book that does not involve giving money to Bezos?

The problem isn't talent it's that our guys can't get published

Obviously, but something outside that really wouldn't hurt. I'd love to see more Nationalist Prog Rock than just Janus who go back to the 1970s.

i dig darksynth the most and classical hahahaha. Tbh if you know any musicfags who might be able to do a video game OST let me know I have a project I'm working on

Can relate there, wish I was born a decade earlier, 2000s nerd culture sounds nice.

But back then you'd have to share the computer with your siblings and parents, and with someone looking over the shoulder you'd be too ashamed to really watch super weeby things so if you were born back then there's just as good a chance you'd be playing lacross and looking forward to grabbing boob after prom than sitting inside talking about haruhi spoilers on 4chan

@TheEternalBungholio@poa.st @Tactical@nicecrew.digital @HarryNuggets@poa.st @WashedOutGundamPilot@poa.st There's some good to be salvaged within decades old television and film. There is a website made for cataloging it like IMDb and Letterboxd, but with both the good highlighted and the pozz exposed if you need it. This site allows for anonymous reviews and comments, but put effort in the recommendations. As for finding such media, that's another challenge aside from going scurvy. https://zeitgeistreviews.com

Anonymous anti-woke movie reviews & infinite search filters. Finally enjoy media again! 😊🍿

We, the larger right wing sphere, really need to stop giving a shit about a lot of things and start re-orientating towards things that matter. Careerism, "respectability" and being "serious" are among the worst. You are not on this earth and live your life to work and have some sort of inflated reputation. We work and manage relationships so that we can live well. Whatever you may think of the term "Protestant Work-Ethic", (I find the term to be too general and amorphous to be really useful for the most part), the cultural values that it describes, (workaholism and the elevation of labor over leisure), have not been any help in the pursuit of right wing art and culture. We need to embrace whimsy, fun, virtue, bravery, justice, truth and beauty regardless of what others think of it. Beauty for the sake of beauty is good even if it makes you no money nor pleases those respectable right wingers like Matt Walsh.

The moobment's been stuck for a long while in the bargaining stage of grief over this stuff; many who clog it up will never be able to move on because somewhere in the back of their minds they're still holding on to the very common delusion that this art and creative stuff is actually easy – the kind of thing they could _totally_ do if they wanted but only LOSERS WHO SPEND ALL THEIR LOSER TIME ON USELESS LOSER SHIT make or consume culture. It is, frankly, pathetic.

But jokes aside, I dont think that right wingers, or White nationalists especially, are any different in terms of consuming culture. Everyone here loves anime. Even when I had literally 30 minutes of "free" time a day, working 12/6, I still had time to watch 30 minutes of anime. I think the bigger problem is poisoning of hobbies. Every fucking thing gets infested with fags, attention whoring woman, niggers and jews. But I get incredibly happy when things I like turn even more right wing. Like that Wranglerstar youtuber, which started soft fedposting. Its nice to see a pushback. So overall, I am optimistic.

And at the least in my case, that poisoning breeds both apathy and rage weirdly mixed together.

Real. Completely agree. We often talk about metaphysics and then quickly devolve into materialist arguments.

not really sure. i've never done a video game OST before and i'm not really sure how that works. i'm not opposed to the idea though.

i release full length albums, mostly synthwave-ish (although my earlier stuff was more inspired by video game music and/or chiptune type stuff). you can find links in my bio for my whole discography if you're interested. my most popular song is probably this one: https://audius.co/bloodmemory/the-panopticon-hellscape but i've shifted to a slightly heavier sound since then.

this is why I always say careers are gay. if you enjoy what you’re doing youre getting something out of work that is more than paycheck and the career stuff follows whatever fulfillment you gain. But pursuing careers for the sake of it at the expense of living a life I’ve never understood. get what you can as much as it takes you to be happy. I’m sure I’ll be told I’m a gay retard loser for not killing myself to have a respectable career but man, you get one life, what cost are you paying for that

@TheEternalBungholio@poa.st @Tactical@nicecrew.digital @WashedOutGundamPilot@poa.st That reminds me, I should try skulking through YouTube and Soundcloud to try finding small garage bands again. There is a genuine charm to music like that.
