>Trump tariffs are destroying the scam that shitty luxury brands have been running on normies for decades.
>Chink factories are simultaneously burning bridges with these brands by spitefully giving away the game.
Seems like a W all around if you ask me.

@Hoss@shitpost.cloud Yep, if you want actually quality good then you need to get them custom ordered. They will probably be cheaper than "luxury" brands too

You're paying for a mark of status, not a container for your stuff. They're used to signal others that they are of the same social class or in-group.

Exactly. Often the luxury stuff time is really high quality and quality control, but the price is for the brand. I wouldn't be surprised if this just pushes luxury goods buyers "up market" to something fancier.

@s2208@nicecrew.digital @BowsacNoodle@poa.st @Hoss@shitpost.cloud Just how easy it is to counterfeit the brand badge, plus a DIY kit to attach it? Should be small and easy to smuggle past customs ... which is going to be freaking swamped in early May when Obama's $800 value no tariffs exemption is scheduled to end, along with Temu and company in perhaps short order.

Apparently it's pretty easy. I bought a fake set of pit vipers for cheap because I like the concept of devaluing a globohomo brand and don't want to give them money (triple win TBH). It came in an authentic box with everything and was probably from the same OEM plant.

@mischievoustomato@tsundere.love @Hoss@shitpost.cloud I’m excited to finally know exactly which high dollar brands are actually high quality and which are cheap shit sold at a huge markup.
