It sucks (not really) that Discord will inevitably get enshittified soon, but it sucks even more that there are no good open source alternatives to Discord. Matrix is just way too slow for me to recommend to normies. The only decent option is IRC+Mumble, but that is obviously not going to pick up. The other option is TeamSpeak, which is closed source.
