It's hard to believe Neckbeard.xyz - http://Neckbeard.xyz has been up for over a year and a half. In that time it's gone through a few server upgrades, a server OS change ( :ubuntu: -> :arch: ), migrated attachments to object storage, launched other stuff and rebranded as Shitty Services, and changing domain registrars all without losing any data. Especially impressive considering that when I first started hosting an instance if shit on Linux broke the only way I knew how to fix it was to reinstall yet now I run Gentoo on my home PC. Also, kinda hard for me to believe since when I setup Feminism.lgbt - http://Feminism.lgbt I assumed I'd get bored of the fediverse in a week or two, wipe the server, and move onto something else. I lost that domain about a month later and decided to use Neckbeard.xyz - http://Neckbeard.xyz (another domain I owned but wasn't doing anything with) and I've been here ever since. Who would have guessed I'd end up being an admin of an instance that has lived to see other instances rise and fall. I now have several users who call NB home and that makes me feel good. I don't expect people to pay to use any Shitty Services (soon to include fedora.email) although I won't turn down donations to help cover hosting costs. For me, just seeing people get enjoyment and use out of stuff I put time and energy into running and making the best I can makes me feel good and gives me a feeling of purpose for what I do. So, I'd just like to thank everybody.
