AzusaWifeHaver haven't watched movies in a long time and this may sound a bit boring but, i really liked joker and the thing
AzusaWifeHaver oh man A Bridge Too Far - https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0075784/ was a great movie imo. Tucker and Dale VS Evil was a funny one, along with Super Troopers. Buffalo Soldiers - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buffalo_Soldiers_(2001_film) is pretty entertaining. I quite liked this - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fAXDWjXsvzw scene. 28 Days Later was pretty fucking good, along with Fight Club. Enjoyed the music in both quite a bit. Spun - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spun was an interesting movie. Don't remember much besides the flashy editing and ending though.
A Bridge Too Far (1977) ⭐ 7.4 | Drama, History, War

AzusaWifeHaver I love everything about it, especially the wonky fill ins for Panther tanks. Its so obviously a Leopard, but I love it in all its autistic glory.

@AzusaWifeHaver@varishangout.net The first is a clusterfuck because the main director was being a booze hound in Yugoslavia. Good film, the end always gets me. Das Boot is about a submarine.

@AzusaWifeHaver@varishangout.net One, Two, Three (1961) Cold War era comedy that finished filming right before the Berlin wall went up. Does a good job of demonstrating how much faster gags used to be in movies. They didn't rub your face in every joke like modern comedies do, so it takes a few re-watches to catch everything.
AzusaWifeHaver I don't watch non anime that much so my movies folder consists of: Lord of the Rings, Ghost Busters, Shrek 1&2, and Treasure Planet

@AzusaWifeHaver@varishangout.net I suggest “The Gods must be crazy” It’s an old colored film about smelly African tribals discovering the power of a glass coke bottle, some poor guy simping for a teacher and eventually earning her love and trust, and terrorists. It’s surprisingly good and very funny, I highly recommend it. If that’s not interesting to you, there’s this old Soviet film I saw called “Polygon” It’s 10 minutes long and animated. It’s about a tank that reads minds. That’s all I can say without spoiling it. I believe you can find it on YouTube with subtitles. I also highly recommend it. You could always watch Das Finale, but I bet you already have.
[email protected] AzusaWifeHaver ah yeah I heard of that. haven't seen Kelly's Heroes though. I did however remember another movie The Devils Brigade - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Devil The Canadian entrance - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jj9STmoRkeA is absolutely glorious

@Rhodesian_YuKari@poa.st @AzusaWifeHaver@varishangout.net Seconding the Gods Must Be Crazy. Niggers are such a backwards people that a single solitary empty coke bottle nearly destroys their tribal lifestyle, and that's basically just the instigating event of the film. Good stuff.

@AzusaWifeHaver@varishangout.net OK so in no particular order or preference: The Guest (2014): A family still grieving the loss of their son, Caleb in the wars in the Middle East have their lives interrupted when a stranger, David, who served with their son, shows up at their door. He's there to fulfill a promise to Caleb, to check up on and help the family, but there's a lot more to David than you'd think. It's sort of one part thiller, one part dark comedy, one part horror film. One of my favorite films, especially around halloween, but it's good year round. I don't want to go into plot details because you've really gotta see it first hand, and then you'll understand why I don't want to give anything away. Jackie Brown (1997): My favorite Tarantino film overall, and it's based on an Elmore Leonard novel to boot. Sam Jackson, Pam Grier, Robert Forrester are all excellent in it, it revolves Pam Grier getting arrested for smuggling money for Sam Jackson, only to use the opportunity to scam all of his money while getting the police after him. No Country For Old Men (2007): It's a Coen Brothers adaptation of a Cormac McCarthy novel, and possibly the best adaptation of any of his work. A poor vietnam vet finds the remains of a drug deal gone bad, and steals the money, sending him on the run from all parties involved, all of whom are interested in getting the money. "If the rule that you followed led you to this place, of what use was the rule?". LA Confidential (1997) Fucking goddamn perfect neo noir film. I could use the rest of this post to lay out exactly what happens and why, and you could still get lost in the movie. Centered around crime and corruption in LA in 1953, with a few detectives caught in the middle of corrupt cops taking over the drug business of the now incarcerated haberdasher Mickey Cohen, while investigating the murder of a celebrity lookalike prostitutes. Vast Of Night (2019) A sleepy New Mexico town in the fifties is visited by aliens, and we experience this from the perspectives of teenaged switchboard operator and a late night radio disc jockey. Possibly one of the most atmospheric movies I've ever watched, but despite the fact it has aliens in it, there are no blue lasers, explosions, or violence in general. I could be pushed for more recommendations, these are all just things I've watched or had on my mind lately.
