That would be significant evolutionary pressure.
This is an interesting list, and most of them seem risky. Ingested tobacco can make people really sick. But most pesticides are nicotine based, so it seems plausible.

Eating a cigarette worth of tobacco doesn't sound that bad, but then again I've never tried it. I would though.
