I've been streaming a bit with #Owncast and #OBSStudio and also recording the same video to use as VODs. But those video files of course don't include any kind of live chat replay.
Is there a way to make some format of self-hosted VODs available with live chat replay?

starlight what do you use for live chat display in stream? afaik, the chat can also opened as a standalone window, so you could include that as a source in your obs setup

For now I've just left everything as default and used whatever live chat that Owncast comes with out of the box-- I haven't researched it at all, or for that matter what options exist within OBS.
starlight [email protected] you can use browser source inside obs to include theoratically everything web based to some extend

probably the easiest way with the caveat that it'd be there in the livestream too
@tlapka@ak.kawen.space @puniko@mk.absturztau.be [email protected] That sounds like it would reliably work, altho it is unfortunate that it will take up extra screen real estate, particularly for games like Space Station 14 which has a lot of stuff going on all over the screen

@starlight@mk.absturztau.be @puniko@mk.absturztau.be [email protected] I think I once saw someone have their recordings capture a different scene than the livestream itself which would make it only be there in VODs but I forgot how they did that.....................
