some of the plants in my room are becoming flimsy at the base...
i wonder if i'm not watering them enough, or if i need to move them to a better sunlit location

@djsumdog@djsumdog.com nope, but it's fairly humid in these parts
there's a dehumidifier in the house somewhere, but i've never really put it to use because it never goes below 50 when it becomes warm outside

@djsumdog@djsumdog.com i wonder if i overwatered them despite only doing so once a week...
i'm gonna move them more closer to sunlight and stop watering them for a little bit...

What kind of plant is it? Is it a succulent of some kind? You got a photo?

@djsumdog@djsumdog.com got them from.someone else, was told to water them roughly once a week, no specifics on plant care because he wasn't a plant guy

@rlier23@varishangout.net @djsumdog@djsumdog.com @ninja8tyu@varishangout.net Looks like a snake plant. They need drainage and soil that can't rot like most houseplants. Washing the roots off and just potting up in sand would probably work for the cheapest option. If you want to get fancy I'd order some coco coir chunks for em. Potting soil industry is a joke, like designed to make keeping houseplants alive difficult. I use like 70% Coco Coir chunks, 10% pumice, 10% sphagnum moss and 5% perlite.

@rlier23@varishangout.net @djsumdog@djsumdog.com @ninja8tyu@varishangout.net Looks like it is more of a succulent than I thought. If I had one I'd buy a bag of cactus/palm tree potting mix and mix it half and half with sand. That's how I'm growing my succulents since to lazy to hunt down fancy gravels yet.

@CZB@eientei.org @djsumdog@djsumdog.com @rlier23@varishangout.net i guess i could buy sandbags and try to change the soil (somehow without making a mess and killing the plants) alongside having tools to use to do slightly more proper shaolin monk training
