And the talk about "racial justice and equality" makes me wonder, what's the point where it has been achieved? Whenever this rhetoric is present, the goal is never clear, just the fact that they want to push a certain direction more. And it's never going to end if public officials keep being afraid of lynching.

Can't remember the name for the life of me but he had some really good points about defending speech and how suppressing bad speech has almost always turned around on the original supporters of the censorship.

Poll taxes and literacy test were used to restrict voting during jim crow and of course with some people being poor they can't pass those test. Now everyone has an equal opportunity to vote. There are laws where a cost is associated with voter id but those are not in every state and it's difficult to say if they are unfair to a certain race. The argument I can make is easy: Secure access to voter id. No cost so people don't complain. Problem is government is more than content in not doing anything just to keep people pissed off.
