Consider gladiatorial events, but with monstergirls.

@tengumatingpress@poa.st Oh I've considered it. A lot.

@Insomnolant@poa.st Centaur races. Lizardwoman/salamander fencing. Ogre wrestling. Imagine. That's not even getting into interspecies events.

@tengumatingpress@poa.st Oh I've been imagining.

Still mad that one monstergirl wrestling manga wasn't very good, it could've at least been entertaining. The monstergirl scene continues its recline unabated....................
@Insomnolant@poa.st There's a surprising amount of dragongirl giantess content, not really into that sort of thing but some of it's cute.

@tengumatingpress@poa.st I admittedly don't watch much anime or read much manga but I do wish there was good Monster Girl content out there. But given how bad the MGE's take on them is, I don't have much hope for something really interest grabbing coming out of Japan. And I definitely love giant dragon girls, so much so that I made 'em a race in my setting.

@Insomnolant@poa.st @tengumatingpress@poa.st Really if you want good monstergirl content, you gotta keep an eye out on the manga scene. There's a lot more stuff out there compared to anime

@Insomnolant@poa.st As long as they don't eat anyone it's fine. This is a huge copout, but I always liked them being able to switch between humanoid forms and just being a fuckhuge dragon to keep them somewhat intimidating.

@akranii@poa.st It's ok, instead of killing there's just rape.
@akranii@poa.st @tengumatingpress@poa.st Most gladiatorial fights didn't end in death.

@tengumatingpress@poa.st No, no vore. Any good and reasonable nation would have laws against eating sentient beings, after all. Besides, they aren't that big, just 20 or so feet tall. They take the role of mobile artillery and early tanks in the WW1 style conflict. As far as shapeshifting goes, I want to leave that as the werewolf race's unique ability. (They don't go full furry, only to monster girl level furriness at most).

@tengumatingpress@poa.st @Insomnolant@poa.st Out of stuff that still ongoing there's a couple I keep up with like Ane Naru Mono and Kitsune Spirit.

@JosephNotASlav@poa.st @Insomnolant@poa.st Been reading ANM since it was just a doujin, it's a good one. I'll check out Kitsune Spirit.

@Insomnolant@poa.st @tengumatingpress@poa.st I can imagine some more ruthless generals using the threat of getting bitten in half as a particularly cruel and terrifying method of execution.

@tengumatingpress@poa.st @Insomnolant@poa.st Kitsune Spirit is pretty cute, each chapter is generally only a couple pages long and focuses a lot on wholesome husband and wife stuff, but recently there's been an attempt by the author to add some more action as well

@JosephNotASlav@poa.st @tengumatingpress@poa.st Maybe in the medieval period, but that doesn't abide the honor culture of the in-universe Prussian military. Though the in-universe French do have some very nasty surprises I can't wait to spring on you guys when we play next.

@Insomnolant@poa.st @tengumatingpress@poa.st Honestly I think cannibalism is a great plot device insofar as it establishes the villains as within a state of absolute depravity.

@JosephNotASlav@poa.st @Insomnolant@poa.st I think being burned alive would be more painful than being bitten in half, but I haven't play in his games so I don't know if they have that in his setting.

@mkultra@poa.st @tengumatingpress@poa.st Let's just say that the real world French have a myth about a demon dog that gains strength from drinking the blood of Christians.

@Insomnolant@poa.st @tengumatingpress@poa.st Well that isn't as villainous as it could be.

@tengumatingpress@poa.st @Insomnolant@poa.st I guess it's kind of up to interpretation as to which would be a worse way to go. Dragonfire probably burns pretty hot so I imagine being engulfed would be relatively quick compared to say getting bitten in half and the slow build up to said bifurcation.

@tengumatingpress@poa.st @JosephNotASlav@poa.st There's definitely fire breath, and since the first iteration of the game there's now also Frost and Lightning breath. Still a really odd tangent to be wondering about the worst way a dragon gorl can execute someone, though.

@JosephNotASlav@poa.st @Insomnolant@poa.st Knowing what they jump to when it's time to kill someone they hate is pretty useful for judging a culture.
Reply to @[email protected]
@tengumatingpress@poa.st @JosephNotASlav@poa.st Well since humans are in charge, and it's WW1 Germany, Prussians are in charge. They do execute people, but it's generally by hanging or firing line. It would be interesting to explore a more savage time period within the same setting, though. Has me thinking.

@Insomnolant@poa.st @JosephNotASlav@poa.st Not really sure about dragons in your setting, but unless they're more like mercenaries I don't see why they wouldn't at least be part of the ruling class assuming they're as strong and smart as most setting portray them ass.
Reply to @[email protected]
@tengumatingpress@poa.st Because there aren't anywhere near as many of them. And because technology has progressed to the point of high caliber artillery. There was certainly a time when tyrant dragon girls ruled over small states, but often they were defeated by heroes of old in turn. That's the stuff of mythology, after all.
