At risk of sounding terribly naive, I've come to the realization that many of the emotions and experiences I held to be a human universal are actually beyond the capacity of most people. The transactional attitudes towards relationships are not, as I once thought, a cynical reaction to prior wrongdoings but rather just the modus operandi of the average person. Difficult to have empathy considering.

Few men have empathy. Finding it amongst women is nearly impossible.

I knew both of my grandmothers, and lived a block away from one of them. I also knew my great-grandmother on my Spanish side and spent my childhood at her ranch while she laid dying in a hospital bed in her living room. So you're wrong again.
