@cell@shitposter.club Yes the game will feature at the beginning 1945 French and German tanks. Lore wise the reason for that is due to strong corruption in the French government which happened around the early 1990's, where the government embezzled massive amounts of funds from the military for other purposes. The player has to fight off at the beginning against the government loyalist guards which are much better equipped. To get newer model of tanks the player has to collect blueprints for production as even the weapons factory plant got infiltrated from unknown forces.
I finally managed to refactor the weapon firing script for my 2D tonk gaem, the refactor is not completely done because the separation of weapon firing and weapon manager scripts needs more work which I need to figure out to define their roles more clearly that being said, I restored now the functionalities for firing rate, firing sound, projectile types and ammo group so projectile based weaponry have most of the basic functionalities now. Hitscan and other special weapon/ammo types won't work at the moment as the code for it is missing, fast firing weapons like MG will be hitscan later. The last few weeks I was busy playing games so that's why I was inactive.
