War isn't an FPS, it's politics by another means. Political goals drive strategy, strategy drives operations, and operations drives tactics. The US consistently loses because it's political goals constantly shift, it traded strategy for PR and wishful thinking, and consequently has no operational art. In Afghanistan it spent a generation, and trillions of dollars, to lose to a group that while it had mostly small arms, it had clear political and strategic goals, and increasingly well developed operations.

Motivated irregular fighting forces fight for purpose... usually their lands and families. While the 'air power' is fighting for ego and resource gain. The two are not in the same league.

I think it's going to accelerate. Once Zelensky changed his tune on peace talks, and Russia keeping what it's taken in combat, the Ukie front start collapsing faster. They're withdrawing on hard contact. Nobody wants to stand and die if peace is coming.
