"the terf-to-fascist pipeline is real, and it's the same reason that fascists obsess over gender conformity & essentialism: their principles rest on the same bedrock the United States is awash in transphobia, but an important difference from the United Kingdom is that leftists & liberals are much less kind to it in the USA than on Ye Olde TERF Island as others have pointed out much better before, it's b/c RadFems in the US got pummeled decades ago by the arguments of Black womxn in particular, but also Indigenous & other people of color who make up a larger part of the left and are much less likely to reflexively want to uphold white supremacy in quite the same way a British cis white woman, even if she votes Labour or styles herself as a Marxist, still gets to enjoy most of the imperial privileges even if she hates patriarchy and capitalism. While that still may be true of an American cis white woman, they make up a much smaller part of the left, and run into many more people forcing them to confront their assumptions But transphobia doesn't really need a veneer of respectability in places where reactionaries already have power, and ultimately "a feminist critique" is a luxury they can toss aside ^ADJ
