@LoliHat@varishangout.net @ryuuji@varishangout.net It's because the investors want them to go full idol while they want to focus on streaming games. Most of the talents do want to be idols, just not as a career focus. Even the ones that were skeptical like Korone hopped on board the idol train after they actually tried it.
But now that it's all the investors want, and all hololive offers as a career path...
Going public is the death knell of a successful company. Even if they stay successful they kill what made them.

@Kyonko802@varishangout.net Nah, Gura clearly could not handle being popular and she was stressing out about going online. She even talked about it in her graduation stream, The impostor syndrome got to her. Her first song is the proof to me.

replyReply to @[email protected]
@Kyonko802@varishangout.net Because that's the corporate response. How else you would explain in a neutral way, that they don't feel like being in hololive anymore? When you leave regular job, the answer why you did that, if you want it to sound neutral is also that you "disagree" with your employer how much you're getting paid or what's the scope of your work.
> their objective is to satisfy investors now.
Wasn't Gura coasting for years at this point now? Fauna was still making her minecraft tree, when Gura was already on hiatus. How it didn't bother her then, if the reason was management?

@blueknightfrank@varishangout.net @David@varishangout.net @Kyonko802@varishangout.net @draw@varishangout.net @rlier23@varishangout.net Investing is gambling, not a job. Most investors don't even know *what* makes money as a company. They want fast and large returns, and whatever it takes to get those. It's very rare you get a large stock holder who actually understands or cares about the company or products.

@Kyonko802@varishangout.net @LoliHat@varishangout.net this is why i think ever since Advent and Justice debuted, hololive has been going through a paradigm shift.
Im not saying those generations are bad, i have high respect for them as streamers, but it matches roughly when hololive went public on the stock market.
Recent and future gens will feel like a replacement of the old gens, these new gens will be aiming more at idol stuffs rather than streaming IMO, but it's not because they want it but rather it's being enforced by shareholders and management.

Kyonko802
replyReply to @[email protected]
@ryuuji@varishangout.net @LoliHat@varishangout.net I think the thing that bothers me is that this will fuck up the careers of girls who DO focus on idol stuff anyways. Like Suisei. How long will her career with hololive last if talents keep graduating and leaving giant stock crashes in their wake?
In pursuing 100% idol cultivation and focusing less on streaming they've ironically more than likely signed the death warrant for any idol prospects they could possibly have.

@Kyonko802@varishangout.net @ryuuji@varishangout.net @LoliHat@varishangout.net the corpos are extremely fuckin retarded because they don't understand that by losing so many talents in such short period of time the general public is starting to think that something is deffinitely wrong and the fact that they have not been transparent about it makes it worse.
by now there are more and more people starting to jumping into the idea that hololive has or is becoming a black company.
who in their right mind would support the idols of a black company?

replyReply to @[email protected]
@rlier23@varishangout.net @Kyonko802@varishangout.net @LoliHat@varishangout.net that's the crux of the problem though, there's actually no issues. It's just not wanting to do something you dont wanna do.
Management: "Well, we'll require you now to take singing and dance classes 4 times per week and limit your streaming time"
Talent: "But i wanna stream more instead. I dont like to do idol stuff"
Management: "Seems like we're in a disagreement. It's okay if you dont wanna do this, but we'll have to part ways in this case. Here's your severance."
Talent: "Yeah seems like it'll have to be this way."
Now, if the management were actually forcing the talents doing things despite their disgust and opposition, that'd be a different story.

Japanese business culture does them no favors in this regard. Even if there is nothing going wrong, hypothetically, and the company is transitioning to a new style of content it puts out the lack of statements by them doesn't help, as far as western fans are concerned.

Dont get me wrong, i do believe there are issues in Cover and in the restructuration they are doing as a whole company. I dont want hololive making idol stuffs they main focus, it should stay as something optional for the talents to pursue.
But some smoothbrains at cover are looking at charts and comparing how profitable are concerts and merch against streaming and they had the brilliant idea to pivot for idol stuff.
