It seems like anti-piracy efforts are ramping up and I'm a tad worried, in the end, less piracy or it being stomped out would basically just mean that the corpos can stop delivering at all and start grossly overcharging even more along with increasing anti-customer measures, barely working shit and extremely annoying DRM Manga and anime are basically the proof that having the industry by the balls is the best for customers, it also help that the industry also trives on merch sales too. Just recently-ish CR, I believe it was, starting doing major typesetting in anime and I don't think we would have gotten that if it wasn't for piracy completely wrecking them on that level for years It's unacceptable to get stuff like Uchujin MuuMuu that text on screen and have it show in a second line down there, it makes the whole thing completely unreadable

@coolboymew@shitposter.world Well as long as nations that don't give a shit about foreign copyright law exist, piracy will always be there. I feel like the recent anti-piracy shit is just the companies trying to squeeze as much value as they can as the world economy is slowing down but still investorniggers want their money.

@nature@pl.nicenature.moe The squeezing of money is exactly why I'm skeptical about them getting more money as they won't actually put it towards improving the product I'm kind of mad reading that sports piracy broadcast customers are getting hit with fines, who were hurting? The rich as fuck owners? The rich as fuck players? Nobody was hurting in the slightest, cue in the South Park clip of celebrities having to wait a few more months to buy that plane and island

@coolboymew@shitposter.world Yeah, they're almost certainly not going to be using it to make better products and more going to use it to milk every single cent out of their IPs. Really hope that normies find other things to be obessed with soon, less money in the market overall may force the big corpos to think twice about being retarded.
