@teto@cawfee.club It doesn't unless you have something fishy. My work environment is Kubuntu without Snap. I do use Flatpak because of MS Teams.

Example would be ani-cli which I use often. Using snaps wont ruin linux desktop by itself, but giving canonical too much power over software distribution can. It feels a bit dirty to use them but whatever. PopOS is too out of date now to recommend. And I will not recommend using user-provided repos like Arch does.

You don't need to worry about anything, they works as intended. Most AppImages already have some update check system and self-update on it.
