I sympathize with a framing like that, but i don't think it gets you very far. In case of sexual abuse i would want the police to intervene, even if it's the parents. ( intervention by lynch mob is fine too, but you can't get everything )

In other words, you come down firmly on the side of "the state owns all children." Have you considered that overall this might be _much_ worse than allowing some amount of unpunished abuse? Because the current system in the US does not result in stable families, happy adults, etc. Also maybe study the "hard cases make bad law" principle?

@ThatWouldBeTelling@poa.st @mute_city@poa.st @moth_ball@shitposter.club The problem with the current system vis a vis the transgender issue isn't that "the state owns all children" it's that with its authority, the state will intervene on behalf of the abusive parent(s) and force transgender "therapies"/mutilations on defenseless children because one or both parents believes their boy/girl is actually a girl/boy. The correct solution is for the state to regard transgenderism as pseudoscience, and transgenderism applied to children as child abuse. Thus, the state would stop encouraging this psychopathy and properly punish any parents that tried to force this on their child and/or any doctors that aided these delusions (either with a child or an adult).
