Sometimes I want to install gnome3 on my laptop just so everything works, I'm not having to deal with GTK3 shit on a Qt5 DE, and I'd have more access to shit like fingerprint reader support (coming soon to Plasma). But then I remember how the project literally promotes racism and I can't in good conscience use software like that. I'd feel less dirty using Windows.

@Economic_Hitman@noagendasocial.com @Zalzen@neckbeard.xyz @unused_ibuprofen@neckbeard.xyz @Zalzen@neckbeard.xyz GNOME Promotes Racism And Should Be Cancelled GNOME recently posted an announcement that they support minorities and stand firm with Black Lives Matter. They claim to support everyone "no matter what the color of your skin, your accent, or your background." This caused a bit of a stink, even within the GNOME community, because GNOME has a Code of Conduct that has some rather divisive and discriminatory language. https://youtu.be/a02fdZZOHlQ

@q@glowers.club @sjw@neckbeard.xyz @shit@skippers-bin.com Not really sure it's the same thing. GTK2 worked okay. GTK3… not really.

@akeno@liberdon.com @unused_ibuprofen@neckbeard.xyz @Zalzen@neckbeard.xyz @Economic_Hitman@noagendasocial.com I highly doubt it. If they do tho then I guess it's time to switch to suckles as they're pretty based.

@q@glowers.club @sjw@neckbeard.xyz @lanodan@queer.hacktivis.me I’m pretty sure it’s a fork of Gnome 2 or at least started as one

@Zalzen@neckbeard.xyz @FrailLeaf@neckbeard.xyz @Economic_Hitman@noagendasocial.com @sjw@neckbeard.xyz OpenBSD doesn’t have a code of conduct as far as I can find. The head of their project doesn’t seem like the kind of guy who would tolerate it.

@astatine@neckbeard.xyz @Economic_Hitman@noagendasocial.com @FrailLeaf@neckbeard.xyz @sjw@neckbeard.xyz I just started using OpenBSD recently (for some server stuff), amazing documentation (probably the best documentation I've seen for a system so far), honestly the only real possible negative thing is I found this admin of an instance: https://bsd.network/@phessler (pronouns, BLM shit, bitching about people not being "cool", "correcting behaviour", etc.), and according to his bio he works on the project, so it might also be a matter of time, but we'll see if OpenBSD cucks itself or not.

@sjw@neckbeard.xyz @Economic_Hitman@noagendasocial.com @FrailLeaf@neckbeard.xyz @Zalzen@neckbeard.xyz the blacklist whitelist thing is stupid. I saw a Pi-hole issue on GitHub wanting to change theirs to “blocklist “ and “allowlist” or something cringe like that

@astatine@neckbeard.xyz @FrailLeaf@neckbeard.xyz @Zalzen@neckbeard.xyz @sjw@neckbeard.xyz @Economic_Hitman@noagendasocial.com Well to me the arguments that makes sense is that at some point you run out of colors or it goes quite ambiguous and often is a pain to translate. Like french has the term "red list" being used for: - Unlisted phone numbers - (from english) Endangered species - Messaging: blocked contacts - Internet: Blocked sites (probably because of french government using a red icon on theses) And I think no one other than email providers knows what greylisting means while "wait-queue" is probably much more transparent.
