@Witch_Hunter_Siegfried@clew.lol The Moriya Shrine group is obviously the greatest contender for me, but honestly the fairy squad is a really damn strong contender too. Then from there the amount of ties for third place would be immeasurable.

Same, I think Shinki and Makai being brought back has a bunch of potential for storytelling too, with or without the Touhou 1 Makai characters too.

@Witch_Hunter_Siegfried@clew.lol @Vidmastereon@varishangout.net ZUN's possible reasoning aside, I do feel the biggest problem with bringing back PC-98 is doing them justice. Ideally that would take a VS Danmaku game, or a .5 title of the fighting game sort. These characters have been gone for so long and many of their personalities that we know of are based on their interactions with other characters that did make it to windows era. There's also some lesser interactions that could pop up too, like the fact Byakuren was stuck in Makai for a long time. Considering Byakuren's power, she definitely punched her way up to Shinki at least once.

She also does copy Shinki's pattern so you could do something with that.
