@tadano@mt.watamelon.win @DrRyanSkelton@mugicha.club @bleedingphoenix@wolfgirl.bar DmC would be better if the higher ups weren't stuck with spiky sticks up their arses and actually tried to do something like the og games in terms of spirit, gameplay wise it seems to be ok because loads of shit from it went into dmc4 se and dmc5, primarily vergil's moveset, but the attitude they had towards the original games and how they basically spat all over them as part of their marketing campaign makes me wonder how did capcom not think "why the fuck did we agree to work with these fucking pricks" at any point in time

Ninja Theory doesn't call Dante a gay cowboy, they make fun of Capcom's request to make a "western devil may cry". they then follow it up with this slide, which is what they *actually* decided to pull from that premise. everyone reads the convenient narrative from this presentation.

Like I said I feel like it has some genuine flaws, I don't think anyone liked the colored enemies, but it's an alright game and most of the hate came from a time when it threatened to be the sole future of DMC and I can understand it being seen as bad in that context.
