Micheal Jackson's father was a black tiger parent in all the worst ways

To elaborate, MJ's father and his father's friends was extremely abusive and caused MJ to have the dysfunction and weird infantilization he had throughout his life. I do sincerely believe MJ sincerely did not like being black because of those bad relationships plus all the popularity and approval received from American Whites throughout his career.
I also like the Jackson 5, Off the Wall, and Thriller, so I'm biased into defending MJ.

But MJ didn't write thriller. The guys from Toto did.

Akshully, Jackson did write his own music, with some of the more successful songs, like Billie Jean being his composition.

I learned a lot from watching Simon Phillips' protocol videos. Not my style, musically, but there's technique in there.

Joe Jackson both had the shitty nigger dad and the oppressive overbearing showbiz dad in him, truly a match made in hell.

did you know he co-wrote "do the bartman" and did backing vocals, all uncredited?

I'm always weary of writing credits. You have to read the back stories. Credits can be bought and sold. It's common for people to not only sell compositions, but to allow a purchaser to say they wrote it.

One of the funnier stories is that Eddie Van Helen's contract for Beat It prohibited him from telling his own band that he played the solo. The term was apparently requested by him. It's like a reverse confidentiality agreement. 😏

Wasn't it an impromptu session? That's probably why. Didn't want to upset his Jewish band member that he was working pro bono outside Van Helen's own session and concert time.

crazy how everyone pretended Bart Simpson was the main character for the first 3 seasons of that show
