Every Catholic I know that actually attends mass, and I mean EVERY SINGLE ONE, looks forward to the day Francis is no longer Pope.

as a member of a church that spawned from the long aftermath of the protestant movement i also look forward to that day, cuz i 'm tired of people who don't evne believe in God acting like what ht epope says means anything.

The Pope was supposed to be Speaker of The House tier— first amongst equals with other bishops. For various reasons, most of Western Christendom aligned with the Pope and the original order was messed up. In some ways it's not so different from SOTH, in that the party generally aligns with him despite him only having one vote. Still sucks to see the most frustrating and insulting take come from liberation theology.

i dunno what that means but if i believe anything i believe God has lot of different flavors of churches so that everyone can be saved rather htan one big church

All the bishops used to have councils like where they drafted the Nicene creed back when Christianity was very young. Bishop basically means "priest or pastor in charge of a bunch of churches", usually like a country or territory. The Bishop of Rome is The Pope. Traditionally he was the guy who ran the meetings* but not the 'boss' like today.

So to your point, what used to exist is what things are returning to. New Babelism (Babylon even) through globohomo is destroying the differences and special uniqueness of regions under the guise of originally economic and now humanitarian reasons. It's garbage.

i dunno, not like Christ can be defeated.

Christ cannot lose. I am concerned for the souls of Christians who will turn away from a church they see promoting their destruction. Not that salvation belongs to the Catholic Church either. I don't want people abandoning Christianity because they see this.

turning away from a chuirch isn't turning away from Christ least imo.

I edited my post because I forgot that Protestants cannot read anything related to Catholicism without having a thought terminating cliche.

@BowsacNoodle@poa.st @givenup@poa.st @grey@poa.st Oofta What's the joke about Protestants? "They think they have a perfect theology?" If that's the case, then it makes sense that Protestantism was born in the mind of a German monk.

I'm ecumenical towards fellow Christians even when I see constant 💩 flung and blatant misinterpretion or bad faith takes dominating their opinion. At the end of the day, Christ is what matters. I'm allowed to be a bit annoyed by nonsense though...

@BowsacNoodle@poa.st @givenup@poa.st @grey@poa.st >allowed to be a bit annoyed by nonsense That's about as far as I wanted that joke to go tbh. "It is time for the armies of Christendom to set aside their differences and unite under one banner, the sign of the cross, and take back what is rightfully theirs, or die trying."

God did not take into battle those who deemed themselves ineffective. God did not want them to die uselessly on the battlefield. So not everyone going to "unite" under your flag, be assured of that.

Not quite. Take "Life Begins at Conception" fanatics. In their "reality" evil has no place. Maybe you want to blame the embryo in the womb for being 2 days old and "not fighting hard enough for Christ"? You cannot have it both ways, you either accept that evil is permanent in this reality - or become a deranged fanatic.

>you either accept that evil is permanent in this reality - or become a deranged fanatic. Evil is permanent because we live in a fallen world. WE will never eradicate evil, but "fighting" against it is something we should do. It doesn't really mean taking up arms against it, but it can. The struggle is the point.

The trick is to pound evil into the dirt so it shant rise again for a very long time, The Thousand Year Reich shall become reality

God will make it so when He chooses. The struggle is not against flesh and blood. The fallen state of the world is pretty obvious when you look at how wicked people can act at times.

My view is either there’s no god/s (either literally or not involved in our affairs) or evil rules, thought the first is more likely imo, it’s our job to take charge in whatever way we can.
