The muslims expelled the christians from the city before the crusaders arrived and the muslims werent massacred it was actually fairly mild, Tancred even stood guard outside of a mosque in the city where muslim civilians had taken refuge. They did kill all the jews though. Thats why jews lie about the brutality of the event.
