I still can't believe how this is possible. Is 85 IQ really that impaired? There are probably a couple billion people that are far below even that. Even in white countries, you're telling me that a huge number of 90ish IQ people struggle to conceptualize things I thought were out-of-the-box for a sentient being? I have vastly overestimated humanity.

@rlier23@detroitriotcity.com @BrokenSword@poa.st @NecroHole@poa.st @Terry@poa.st @sylus@poa.st it is simply atonishing to think of the amount of "people" out there in the wild existing with sub-simian IQ, even more so when you learn about the standard deviations and that usually a standard deviation is 15 points, at some time it was considered that an IQ one standard deviation below the mean of 100 (85) was the point at which someone was retarded... but that could not be cuz then most niggers in the USA would be considered retarded so the American Psychological Association decided to lower the score of retardation even lower... now consider this there are entire countries out there that got populations that are below 2 standard deviations, and the range of "simian intelligence" is considered between one and 2 standard deviations below the mean of 100...

I remember one time I was at a zoo and saw the gorillas. I was tired from walking all day, so I sat on a bench next to the glass wall surrounding their domain. One of the gorillas came over and sat right next to me. His body was covered with several scars from deep scratches and looked weary, but peaceful. We sat looking at each other face to face for some time. I could feel traces of humanity, it was a surreal experience. I was reminded of Koko's story, which always had a soft spot in my heart since learning about it as a child. I also remember many years before that experience having learned about global IQ distributions, and I immediately had to look up what Koko's estimated IQ was. I was pretty certain I recalled it being quite higher than some of the numbers I was seeing, which, of course, it was. I suspect if you were to close the language gap, which they did with teaching Koko sign language, the other gaps would be revealed to be far narrower than we might expect. More recently, I watched 2001: A Space Odyssey. Its opening scene made me laugh for all the wrong reasons, and I have never been able to watch the news the same way since.
