People say they like hololive because it's real women with the mask of anime but I think that's a misunderstanding. I think having female streamers actually play a fucking video game without all the fanfare around themselves is the real source of their popuarity. This is also why there is almost no overlap between people who watch twitch whores and jp vtubers.
