@Spooke@varishangout.net Embedded batteries are still very much replaceable, it's just that "the battery died" is a great excuse for people to get the newest shiniest thing So i'd argue that despite pretending to be a critique of modern product design that clip is actually playing into it since it's based on the premise that ,once the battery dies, the entire device dies with it Then again, i'm drunk, so maybe i'm just reading too much into it

@eldr@varishangout.net largely depends on the cost of the battery imho. There are some devices where the battery costs more than the device itself at that point. Alternatively the batteries are no longer manufactured and you're stuck buying knockoff batteries that are sketchy af on how much charge they actually hold.
