Education degrees select for students that always tow the line but delusionally see themselves as rebels for doing so. It's a very feminine sort of thing, where nobody actually cares about the well-being of students at all, they care about being validated as a person for being a teacher. It's the same way with HR ladies. At the university I went to, if one of the (liberal, female) professors in any of your education classes subjectively felt like you weren't going to be a "good teacher", they could literally just kick you out of the major and you wouldn't be allowed to move forward. Complete veto if you didn't bend to their will and kneel like a dog. Mind you that you only started taking your education classes AFTER ~2.5 years of other classes, so you're already heavily financially invested.
