IMO busses in LA are fully redeemable by having them run far more often. A bus every 5 minutes would fix 99% of the issues they have. LA Metro cuts costs too much and doesn't give a fuck how unsafe it makes it

They are currently doing a strike that might become national due to these issues. I really hope this happens because crime rates and criminals are getting out of control.

Totally under-developed, underfunded, unreliable, broken, dirty, and in many cases outright dangerous. And, rarely does it really take you to the places that you want to go to. Whereas, for example, public transportation in virtually every larger city in China I've gone to (Shanghai, Suzhou, Wuxi, Nanjing, Beijing, Shenyang, Xi'an, etc.) was mature, clean, reliable, safe, functional, efficient, useful, etc.. Basically the antonym of whatever I can conjure up regarding public transportation in the USA. The public transportation in San Francisco is actually pretty good, though.I think a major reason for the American public transportation system being trash, too, is just 100 years of suburban development---nothing is really close to anything nor convenient to get to. America is not urbanized, and public transportation really necessitates urbanization. Public transportation is not useful if the closest stop to the place I want to get to still necessitates a 30--60 minute walk to get there, or hailing some ride-share or whatever.
