@Hoss@shitpost.cloud I've been made to work months worth of 12 hour shifts and it's genuinely soul crushing. Four hours of free time (lower actually because travel time and getting ready for work) without cutting into your sleep isn't enough to do anything that could reasonably counteract the stress build.

Working 80 hours a week doesn't mean there were 80 productive hours*

Fun fact, Henry Ford actually used data analytics to discover that a 40 hour work week was the most beneficial to the company before workers would become too tired from overwork and not only would the quality of products drop off a cliff- the company would loose money in workers getting injuries, damaged products and tools

Just look at Eastern Asia where 80-hour work weeks are the norm. Nobody is having families and people are throwing themselves out of windows.

The peak work hour system is probably lower than 40 hours but we'll never know.

I was a project manager for a construction company years ago and I switched one of the framing crews to four days a week and payed them straight 40 and they got more work done then the other crews did working five or even six days a week so then we made the four day work week standard for all crews and it worked great until some middle management retard had a fit and had it changed back.
