https://opensource.org/OSI_Response https://rms-open-letter.github.io/ Stallman is not gonna be around for longer. On his personal blog he says something about not liking bigotry so I doubt he disagrees with what others are saying he is

@MischievousTomato@poa.st Stallman was right about open source niggers being corporate subversives undermining the free as in freedom software movement.
@MischievousTomato@poa.st He said he wont resign again tho

An open letter in support of Richard M. Stallman
An open letter in support of Richard Matthew Stallman being reinstated by the Free Software Foundation

@tengumatingpress@poa.st I currently use the BSD 3 Clause license in my personal thingies, but I think I need to learn about the GPL one more

@MischievousTomato@poa.st There's some weird legal fucker with GPLv2 being incompatible with GPLv3, but fuck it, no corporate freeriders.

@MischievousTomato@poa.st The mob has gone after Bob Martin too. The future of software development is bleak

@TakInitialD@poa.st I don't see a good future without people like torvalds and stallman either

[email protected] what a bunch of scums rms has contributed to the whole movement more than any of those diversity hires, despite my own disagreements with some of his opinions and views. fuck anyone preaching about diversity in open source softwares. meritocracy is more important above all else.

@MischievousTomato@poa.st @TakInitialD@poa.st I haven't read/seen anything about Torvalds since he "apologized", at least noteworthy. All I know is that based Torvalds is best Torvalds.

@MischievousTomato@poa.st @TakInitialD@poa.st 2022 is going to be year of the OpenBSD desktop. Year of the 9front desktop? 2030 at the latest.

@tengumatingpress@poa.st @MischievousTomato@poa.st @TakInitialD@poa.st There are a number of people who will assume the mantle from your Torvalds and Stallman types soon enough, you just don't know them because for the time being they're not in the habit of seeking publicity.

@MischievousTomato@poa.st @tengumatingpress@poa.st I'm just gonna fork Ubuntu and add Nazi flag wallpaper and black, red, and white theme lol. Boom stormfrontOS

@MischievousTomato@poa.st @TakInitialD@poa.st I honestly see him as a role model in that regards (I myself am caustic and lacerating), but I also get it can wear you out - and others - on the long run. But going from that to a 180-degree flip is like... nah, bro. At least you can tone it down and throw a couple of fucks here and there, but people should take criticism with a straight face.

@captain_arepa@poa.st @TakInitialD@poa.st criticism is what makes us grow after all. And while yes, it can wear others out as time passes, Torvalds just wants to keep Linux's code in good shape.

@MischievousTomato@poa.st @TakInitialD@poa.st Absolutely. And when it comes to something so critical as the Linux kernel (which is basically reponsible for like 80-90% of whatever the fuck the world does to keep working), criticism is the filter for mediocre solution. After all, Torvalds' the creature's father, he understands how it works and what's best for it (I think).
