Touhou is actually inspirational because it's an indie franchise that the creator has retained full control over for 25 years now and hasn't sold out yet, even after letting people professionally publish their games with his blessing. Touhou is a glimpse of what an unkiked entertainment industry could look like.

@tengumatingpress@poa.st I like that valve did that with Black Mesa and i think some portal 2 mods, they should really allow more of that.

I think this is also why so many anime nazis are drawn to it, beyond just being a fun series with incredible lore.
