it is both complimentary and cute. The cultural appropriation mavens are weak people that have no actual culture of their own, and project their weaknesses onto others.

Actual Asians don't feel threatened when they see Whites dress up in cheongsams or kimonos or struggle through learning their languages
Whites find it amusing and flattering when Asians go overboard with cowboy culture or build Disney-style replicas of classic European cities
