the modern litmus test of being human and having intelligence is whether you think ai is sentient
because if you think its literally anything other than a probability predictor you dont have a soul and thus arent human and probably an npc

the average person is as sentient as ai

@kilostere@varishangout.net @theorytoe@ak.kyaruc.moe been saying that for a while now, except the ai is more tolerable than people themselves

As long as you don't take a hit to the autoloader, then they need to send up cosmonauts to do corpse recovery from LEO.

Paultron-3030
replyReply to @[email protected]
honestly if enemy munitions have penetrated the armor and are in your autoloader you were probably already dead, the ammo cookoff is just a way to cremate the remains in a budget friendly way

“More human than human”, which is depressing because that says more about humans than it does about AI.

The autoloaders are better because they allowed the soviet tanks to have lower profiles, better to avoid being hit alltogether.

Paultron-3030
replyReply to @[email protected]
its cool because less crew = more tanks which was a big point of soviet doctrine
kind of ass because a fourth crew member would be really handy if you want to detach tanks for individual duties (repair, watch, etc)
soviet war plans released during perestroika showed they projected having to replace an entire european invasion force with the first 10 days due to radiation poisoning, so a low crew requirement could be good

That theory about the autoloader being used so weakened crews could operate longer sounds even more plausible now.

@BionicNigga@poa.st @theorytoe@ak.kyaruc.moe @kilostere@varishangout.net this video lives rent free in my head regarding stuff like ai https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UfBso0Y4ETI
ai, among various other things, was built to replace people in not only the workplace, but in relationships, and at the end of it all, none of us will get what we wanted

BionicNigga, Rayper of Waves 🌊

Been meaning to watch that video for a while, just need to find some solitude, but yeah, people are freaking out about zoomers turning to AI for all their lives’ problems but have they ever considered why? It’s merely highlighting an existing problem, which is that we do not live in a society and we’re all just atomized individuals with no social networks to help each other out with even daily life let alone the sort of fun we’ll be in for if a major supply chain disruption occurs.

@kilostere@varishangout.net @theorytoe@ak.kyaruc.moe the turing test is at the same time a test of the tester

@theorytoe@ak.kyaruc.moe Anyone who has any doubt that AI will never become sentient needs to look no further than the 4D chess that computers need to do to accomplish a task as simple as generating a “random” number.

@fwc@0.5dollah.click @theorytoe@ak.kyaruc.moe You can, it's just kind of imprecise and the result often depends on previous results. (For example, you might try again if you get the same result twice in a row. )But you don't just follow a procedure like a machine, it simply comes up in your mind.

@BionicNigga@poa.st @theorytoe@ak.kyaruc.moe @kilostere@varishangout.net doesn't it feel great that humanity seeks to replace itself only to never get what will fill the hole in its heart?
that we've screwed each other so much that we can't find the trust in others and see each other as a means to an end or a tool to fulfill something rather than as people?
