@theblessing@kiwifarms.cc @Mevie@stereophonic.space what you describe sounds a lot like someone with a personality disorder, I would say a borderline one F60.3 in the ICD-10 https://www.icd10data.com/ICD10CM/Codes/F01-F99/F60-F69/F60-/F60.3 bordies are extremely irritating and Otto Kernberg wrote books about them. Also by Otto Kernberg "Love Relations" is a very interesting book but one has to read it many times to understand everything. But like many psychanalysis books it is very dangerous because you then find out things about yourself that maybe you were happier not knowing or if you don't have a supervisor they could be dangerous :-/

If you bother answering or noticing them, they learn that "my attention-seeking behaviour is working" and in a forum say something or irl cut their arms and it reinforces the behaviour if when they write kys or I am killing myself it doesn't get any reaction, then they "learn" that "saying kys" doesn't "work". It takes years for them to unlearn their behaviour. They often find someone who notices them. So imagine someone who is bland and unattractive like this one. Nobody pays attention to him because he's boring. But he "learnt" that "when I say I am killing myself people notice me". He is just very uninteresting and found this way to be noticed. Best imho is zero reaction or ask him "what else are you doing to be noticed?" Then he sort of gets short-circuited. Imho.

If you tell him "get off your computer" it's a reaction. Interesting suggestion, histrionic and not borderline. Maybe someone could read the ICD-10 or Americans the DSM-5 and see the difference. I would say more borderline because imho "I am killing myself" is much more borderline, but then borderline has a bit of everything, also histrionic. Saying "I don't have a personality disorder" is also typical. Either he has one and therefore must deny it, or he wants to pretend he has one, and only someone who has a personality disorder would want to make people think he is pretending to have one. It will take years for him to rectify his behaviour and I used rectify on purpose as it underscores the likelihood of male homosexual passive activity.
