Like not making it past basic training but demanding they are a veteran and deserve as much respect as a veteran of foreign wars ?
No they make it past basic training, but they just do a menial job for a while but pretend they are hot shit. That's all. Not that cooks don't matter: they do! But they also weren't "in the shit" and they also didn't "put warheads on foreheads" I certainly made some missions happen by fixing stuff as an avionics technician, but it doesn't mean i was the one to kill those guys and gloat about it.
