Imageboards allow too big an attack vector, and every bad group on every existent one has lots of practice executing them. (Including and especially the Sharty.) 9chan lasted 2 months. For most of that Null was trying to get access to the fed's anti-CSAM database tool, and they denied access (they only give it to big sites). Then he tried rolling his own, it partially worked, but the flood overwhelmed it and required manual moderation of the worst shit on the Internet. I wouldn't wish that job on anyone.
