I grew up in the ass end of New York State. Visited the City all of three times and hated every single second I was forced to be there.

There was about a 10 year period where the city was getting better and then Guiliani left office and all his measures like stop and frisk were rolled back and it's a total hellhole again. All of our taxes were funneled directly to the city. Hell one year they took a chunk of our salt trucks and brought them down to city to clear them out first because fuck the rest of the state. NYC is an actual parasitic economic zone that has destroyed the rest of the State.
