I'm running Linux Mint which is mostly ok. I can't run games though, and that's really disappointing.

Steam. I installed Wine and something else. I don't remember off the top of my head. Still no go.

You don't need to install anything outside of steam. - Right click on the game in steam - Properties - Compatibility tab - Tick "force the use of a specific Steam Play compatibility tool" - It'll give you a default proton version, run with it and see if it works. If it doesn't proton.db might have suggestions - Hit ok and exit out, you might need to update the game, after that it should install and run ok Works for like 98% of the games I've tried.
