Ghost of Tsushima 2 (Ghost of Yotei, aka GoY) stars a woman protagonist. Coupled with the upcoming Assassin’s Creed Japan game this makes two “big” releases set in a ‘historical’ setting without a traditional Japanese male hero. I think that’s significant and disturbing. Ghost of Tsushima was even lauded by Japan for featuring a very good older male character, and I agree. Anyone who thinks/thought Ghost of Tsushima 2 was going be un-molested probably didn’t play the Ghost of Tsushima DLC. The base game of Tsushima was near flawless and 95% POZZ-free, but the DLC was polluted by Western neoliberal messaging and values because it was developed in response of - & to emulate - nuGod of War Ragnarok’s ‘success’. Ragnarok was an emasculating melodrama, and so was Ghost of Tsushima’s DLC, which I would say has a 60% POZZ -free rating, maybe less depending on how egregious you consider the messaging, much of which I would say is NOT Japanese in values. Thoughts on Goy, I mean, Ghost of Yotei?
