@Simpadoo@fsebugoutzone.org @apropos@fsebugoutzone.org @BadFediPosts@lab.nyanide.com what are any intellectuals good for? from any era? nothing. the peasants were happier and less stress than modern society. we need to go back, preferably without feudalism, to a more nature way of life, without "intellectual" niggers

@maija@netzsphaere.xyz @Simpadoo@fsebugoutzone.org @apropos@fsebugoutzone.org @BadFediPosts@lab.nyanide.com How will you maintain society without intellectuals? Besides, there exists differences in intellectual capacity. Others deserve to be on top of others.

@Forestofenchantment@clubcyberia.co @Simpadoo@fsebugoutzone.org @apropos@fsebugoutzone.org @BadFediPosts@lab.nyanide.com @maija@netzsphaere.xyz The issue is that this term is badly defined.
The faggot who sips tea and spends all day reading classical literature is *not* keeping society afloat. Engineers, however, *do*. Anyone reasonable can draw that distinction, and blurring the lines here is a little disingenuous.

@ceo_of_monoeye_dating@lab.nyanide.com @Simpadoo@fsebugoutzone.org @apropos@fsebugoutzone.org @BadFediPosts@lab.nyanide.com @maija@netzsphaere.xyz I'm talking about intellectuals who in traditional societies performed duties that required training from a young age, financial advisor to the king and whatnot.

@Forestofenchantment@clubcyberia.co @Simpadoo@fsebugoutzone.org @apropos@fsebugoutzone.org @BadFediPosts@lab.nyanide.com @maija@netzsphaere.xyz There are many such "duties" that totally don't do any good for society today. Psychologists require this type of training, and honestly the world would be better off if they were all thrown onto the streets.
Large amounts of training does not necessarily mean the person's useful.

the context is about benefit to society, not an individual corporation's executives
ethical boards are a blight upon the government and academic research, which in the long term is a very bad thing, because academia is important.
