I can tell a lot about people by how they react to ow dot webm. Either they think the game is amazing and get intrigued or they immediately reject it.

Honestly can't blame the latter group though, I think there's a reason the series never caught on in the west.
Samurai Shodown 7 actually had traction in the west, but the corona and SNK giving it horrible netplay absolutely murdered any chance it had of becoming big in America. At least we're getting more Cham Cham cunny now that she's playable again.

I think fighting games are my favorite genre I have the most contempt for because they're either hilariously stupid or so well-designed everything feels kind of flat and boring. The worse a game gets (within reason), the better it is. I think this is why Arc System Work's recent games have been so disappointing, Guilty Gear built its reputation by being a hilarious mess of complex character-specific mechanics that accidentally became balanced simply by making every character an absolute terror to fight.

There’s tiger girls in Samurai Shodown? Fuck I gotta get into it
I also need to get into Darkstalkers and Killer Instinct (I dig the creature/character designs for both)

I love fighting games to death, but I honestly can't recommend people get into them if they're not involved in the scene, something feels perverse about the entire genre. I don't like having to praise games that were poorly thought out even if that's what makes them entertaining. I think this
I'm not alone in feeling this way, I don't think many people who get deep into the scene have any respect for it. Enjoying them might be a mark of reprobation, or at least a deep character flaw.

@tengumatingpress@poa.st playing with the homies is the way to go. And if theres a skill discrepancy in your favour that shits ending quick.
Therell be like 5 6 cool guys in a 100man scene and you arent going to meet them just starting out.

@RoyalJohnny242@poa.st Don't get your hopes up, she's only playable in Samurai Shodown II and as DLC in the newest game. Samurai Shodown II is a fine game if nobody's playing as Ukyo, but SNK shit the bed so hard with SS7 I don't think anyone should buy it.
Vampire Savior/Darkstalkers 3 is definitely a fun game I can recommend though. Not as sure about Killer Instinct, but everything I've heard about it has been good.
