Since I'm gonna move to another distro soon after using Mint. I'm just gonna skip Endeavour to Arch tbh. Cos I wanna be super hardcore. 😆 Well as for Gentoo, I'm not gonna bother.

pre-archinstall gentoo was easier to install than arch IMO (for a new user at least), the install instructions are way clearer on their wiki. In fact, as a rule of thumb, i'd say the gentoo wiki docs are the best among linux distros, the only problem is that having to compile everything gets very annoying very fast

@hellhammer666@varishangout.net that's basically what i did after using Ubuntu based distros for a little while, I just flew off and installed arch. It is not difficult, too many noobs make it look like an impossible task

@eldr@varishangout.net @hellhammer666@varishangout.net impossible more like "extremely time consuming and leads to an impractical system"
like you're probably just copy pasting commands from the fucking book you're not writing new code

in theory yes, but last time i tried i spent most of my time figuring out compiling errors whereas usually on gentoo shit works out of the box no problem unless you specifically mess with the flags
so if the gentoo install is considered very difficult i'd say, following the same metric, LFS would be near impossible since you're gonna need some prior knowledge (on arch and gentoo all you need is basic reading comprehension and some time to waste)

Yeah, I knew I'm gonna get that response for making this questionable dumbass thread I've made. I'm such an idiot. Sorry guys, it's won't happen again.

@nyanide@lab.nyanide.com Nah, don't need to. Coz I've already done it manually on my VM last week. Just the only problem I have was memorising, other than that it all good.
