For my cellphone homies: people used to go out and do stuff. they used to like living. they used to have experiences and dreams and friends. that's why the background in the top looks like a memory of a place you've never been. it was made from somebody who knew what a fucking rock by a lake was, he knew the slope from the grass where the dirt began to sag between tree roots, he knew the bends around the shore where life lay sheltered in the shadows of old willows - a man, a real living, breathing man worked on that painting. he'd seen mountains and skies and really felt them in the moment. the under qualified rodent on the bottom only understands that there are symbols called tree, and rock, and mountain, and he can imitate those symbols but the very idea they could mean and feel like anything is alien to him. triangle on a computer? that's one more check box on the list, twenty minutes closer to a paycheck he can spend on nothing for nobody until he dies having lived nowhere.
