My nice pens are all out of ink. Can anyone (esp. Aussies) recommend good but affordable gel or ink flow (not ballpoint) pens. I like uniball signo but they're expensive af for how long they last.

@Bajax@shitposter.club Nope- only recentishly began using gel pens instead of cheap as shit bic ballpoints. My handwriting has improved tremendously though. I don't really mind messy but would prefer something that won't chew through the ink too quickly. Any brand/specific recommendations?

@Bajax@shitposter.club Hmm I was going to rule it out as too expensive until you mentioned this. I am willing to invest in like one or two pens and just fill them up again. How pricey is ink?

@Bajax@shitposter.club I was eyeing off the lamy safaris in my local officeworks but I figured they would run through ink so quick it would end up being more expensive than gels in the longrun and I'm not so into fancy lettering / penmanship that I could justify the expense. Maybe for Christmas lol

@Bajax@shitposter.club Admittedly I mostly wanted the fountain pen to draw with lol. I had been using uniball eye rollerballs for shitty sketches since I could get a pack of 8 for $17 so I didn't feel too bad for wasting the ink mucking about. But it would probably be more economical to get something I can refill with bottles of ink instead. I'll have to go to a proper art shop and see what they've got. Thanks a tonne for the info. My hand is kinda too retarded to use anything with pressure-dependent width variation well but I might get a fountain pen (or a twig lmao) with a pot of ink and see how I go. Probs going to get 0.5 mm uniballs in the meantime for note taking and window shop for an artsy pen.
