I imagine taking the hit to buy an impractical 60,000 dollar virtue signal just to have the meta change before the payments are up, and suddenly I'm having my car which I bought to save the world vandalized. How can you guys claim to have empathy for people who aren't like you when you don't even seem to have empathy for the people who are exactly like you?

EVs as a class of vehicle are about a tenth as useful as a real car, so if teslas get down to about 1/10th of their normal price in the used market I'd probably even get one.

Dodge Ramcharger will be electric drive trugg with a big fuel tank and battery. Mazda has several models coming out. Hybrids are neat tech.

@BowsacNoodle@poa.st I kinda figured that full EV would die out bc it's unrealistic in America. Hybrids are the reasonable, albeit unnecessary, compromise. Hybrids may be unnecessary, but if you think about it, it's kind of awesome to have the extra ponies when you need it from electric. The Prius is one of the best designed cars from a mechanical and systematic standpoint. It's basically a masterpiece of engineering, and I say that knowing full well that the people who often drive them are insufferable. I'd rather see hybrids used for performance boost rather than just relying on turbos which we know will likely shorten the lifespan of an aluminum block engine.
