I don't know if anyone else has this experience, but drinks with artificial sweeteners (stevia, aspartame, etc.) leave this awful aftertaste after drinking the drink. However, when I eat zero-sugar desserts made with the same artificial sweeteners, they do not taste weird afterwards.
Does anyone know why?

@ehhh@varishangout.net Maybe because the concentration of the sweeteners is different, assuming that it's the same sweetener? Desserts can't usually just replace sugar with a sweetener because the sugar acts an an important chemical part of the baking process, so there's probably more going on. Some people can tolerate some sweeteners more than others. Can't stand stevia, even though it's natural, myself, so YMMV. But then, I don't have a sweet tooth so it doesn't matter much to me. As a non-sugar sweetener, I suggest trying Monk Fruit. It may not be to your taste, but it's worth a try if you haven't yet.

Don't know. Wouldn't surprise me if there were people here with even higher IQs than I. I tend to be self-deprecating despite my official numbers because I've usually been around world-class geniuses professionally as well as having to deal with an evil relative who has nearly 20 higher IQ points than I. >the dessert in question is chocolate peanut butter cups btw. Yup, Stevia. Most soft-drinks use Aspartame, which quite a few people can't stand.
