Mastodon: Builds and can work anywhere where you can get ruby on rails and mastodons other millions of dependencies, so pretty accessible. Configuration is a bust though. Misskey: Impossible to build on sane distros. Pleroma: It builds on anything with elixir and is highly configurable. The only downside is the database schema is a fuck.

Debian: Only ships Postgres 15, backports doesn't have a newer version and Misskeys documentation says to use a version newer than 15! *Alrite fuggit I'll just continue onwards anyway, I thought* DEBIAN SHIPS A VERSION OF NODE THAT IS TOO FUCKING OLD FOR SOME OF THE MISSKEY DEPENDENCIES. Arch: uhhh.. it at least has nvm in repos? Though got a weird error message about misskey wanting 22.0.0 and nothing more. Maybe I just read the error message wrong. I gave up on that install though.
